Independence, MO – Today, the only veterans organization – PAC or otherwise – in the country that is led and operated by veterans who are also former candidates for public office, Taking the Hill, is endorsing Lucas Kunce for the US Senate Seat being vacated by Roy Blunt, who is retiring.
“Lucas served our country for 13 years as a Marine, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan,” said the Honorable Patrick J. Murphy, Founder and America’s first Iraq War veteran elected to the U.S. Congress, Taking the Hill. “And, when he came home, he didn’t stop defending American values. Instead, he joined the American Economic Liberties Project to fight against corporate monopolies and greed, leveling the playing field for American workers. We aren’t just supporting Lucas because he is a veteran. We are supporting him because he is a person of honor and integrity, proven many times over in acts of thankless service both in and out of uniform. He will be a warrior for working people in Missouri.”
Lucas Kunce is a 13-year Marine veteran, National Security Expert, and Antitrust Advocate running to replace U.S. Senator Roy Blunt’s open seat in 2022. As a U.S. Marine, Lucas did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and later represented the United States in arms control negotiations with NATO and Russia. Since then, he’s been fighting the massive corporations and corrupt politicians who strip our communities for parts at the American Economic Liberties Project. Lucas lives in Independence, Missouri, and is a native of Cole County.
“I’m proud to have earned the support of Taking the Hill,” said Kunce. “We need veterans who are willing to level with the American people and stand up to the political, corporate, and military elites who’ve been stripping our country for parts. Taking the Hill has helped elect dozens of veterans like me to every level of government, elevating the perspective of those of us who have already put our lives on the line for our country, who know what it takes to get the job done, and who are prepared to fight for everyday Americans. Their support will play a critical role as we continue to build a grassroots movement to take back this U.S. Senate seat for the people of Missouri.”
Taking the Hill PAC was founded in 2018 by former Congressman and 32nd Under Secretary of the Army Patrick Murphy. Since then, Taking the Hill has helped dozens of veteran and military family member candidates seek public office – and win.
