“The numbers across polling of this race are starting to tell a similar story. Despite having near universal name ID, Josh Hawley remains in the mid-40s, falling far short of the critical 50% threshold we’d expect to see from an incumbent in a redder state. Meanwhile, Lucas Kunce, a Marine veteran who grew up like everyday Missourians, is clearly starting to resonate with Missouri voters. He’s got a real shot at winning this race in 2024.”
Kunce’s massive Q3 haul also keeps him ahead of Hawley for the cycle. Lucas has raised more than any Senate challenger in Missouri history for the first nine months of an election cycle. Independence, MO …
Over 14,000 healthcare providers, higher education faculty, janitors, nursing home workers, first responders, and social service workers united in the SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council announced their endorsement of Lucas Kunce for U.S. Senate. “There’s a stark difference between staging a photo op with unions when our approval numbers are high, on the one hand, and taking real votes in the Senate to fight for us on the other… We do our job. Josh Hawley isn’t doing his… We know [Hawley]’s only changed his tune because of polling and the fact that he’s up for re-election next year… I know a fraud when I see one.”
Kunce will report entering October with $1.7 million cash on hand. The campaign says that’s more money at this point in the election cycle than any previous Missouri Senate challenger in the last two decades… In a brief July interview with The Nation, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said: “Lucas Kunce is a good candidate, and we can beat Josh Hawley.”

UFCW #655 President David Cook said his union’s support of Kunce was not merely a case of sharing political dogma. “We’re behind Lucas Kunce because, as this poll shows, he can make this race competitive, and he can win.” Hawley’s campaign could not be reached Wednesday for comment.
“Candidates may pick up soft endorsements, which amount to political names to slap on flyers. But they also may get hard endorsements, where those names show up in the flesh and help rally support. Any questions along those lines about the campaign of Lucas Kunce, a Democrat taking a second shot at the U.S. Senate, were answered Monday night.”
Lucas Kunce has an op-ed out in Fox News that brings in his own experience with arms control negotiations to break down how Senator Tuberville’s political protest is actively damaging the United States military and national security apparatus.
