“What I admire most about Lucas is that his commitment to service is inspired by his desire to honor the community that took care of him when, as a child, medical bills bankrupted his family,” said Barbara Eagleton. “Before joining the Marine Corps, it was the Pell Grant that made it financially possible for Lucas to go to college. The Pell Grant program was one of Tom’s proudest achievements, and I know he would be proud to see his legacy result in an opportunity for a Missourian like Lucas to serve his state and country as a Marine Corps officer. Now Lucas is running to guarantee a future filled with opportunity for all Missourians. I am enthusiastically supporting his campaign for the United States Senate.
