End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Lucas Kunce for U.S. Senate in Missouri. Kunce knows that our government will never be truly representative until the voices of the people—not just of wealthy special interests—are heard. That’s why he is rejecting all money from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, Big Pharma executives and Big Oil executives to ensure he is only beholden to Missourians.
“There’s only one person in this race who will actually fight to overturn the disastrous Citizens United decision and put Washington back on the side of working Missourians and that’s Lucas Kunce,” said Tiffany Muller, President of ECU // LAV. “Josh Hawley is nothing but a fraud who talks a big game on taking on money in politics in Missouri but always sides with corporations and the corrupt special interests back in Washington. Meanwhile, Kunce refuses to take a cent of corporate PAC or federal lobbyist money and is truly committed to rooting out the political corruption and corporate greed that’s undermining our democracy. We’re excited to endorse him and look forward to helping him win.”
“We’re fighting to end corporate influence in American politics, and that’s why I’m proud to be in this fight alongside End Citizens United // Let America Vote,” said Kunce. “For years, massive corporations have been buying politicians like Senator Josh Hawley so they can write the rules we all have to play by in our economy. They then direct their bought-off politicians to approve corporate judges who interpret the law on behalf of big corporations instead of workers and small businesses. This system is leaving working people across Missouri behind. Rooting out corruption in Washington starts with taking this Senate seat back for working Missourians.”
Kunce will work to overturn the disastrous Citizens United decision and has proposed a number of ethics reforms to combat the flow of dark money in politics and root out corruption. He’s also in favor of forbidding members of Congress and their immediate family members to own and trade stocks. He’s an advocate for better transparency and accountability in our government, supporting legislation like the DISCLOSE Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
