On Hawley’s Unwillingness to Participate in a Televised Political Debate
“We’ve signed up for four [debates] right now. We agreed to do one on Fox news in his home turf. Again, the guy doesn’t want to answer questions like why he stole $250,000 from Missouri taxpayers by violating ethics laws, he doesn’t want to answer questions about why he refuses to protect IVF and contraception. He doesn’t want to answer questions about why he thinks no-fault divorces should no longer be available and people would be stuck in dangerous marriages…We’re gonna keep signing up and see if he shows or not.”

On Abortion and Freedoms Being Directly on the MO Ballot in November
“We have an abortion petition on the ballot, a constitutional amendment to enshrine the right to abortion and pretty much codify Roe v. Wade this fall. And so, people are super excited to protect their rights and take power from these power control freak politicians.”

Hawley will be forced to share the ballot with a massively energizing ballot initiative to end a total abortion ban Hawley supports and restore reproductive freedoms that Hawley helped to end. And while voters are more motivated than ever by issues like IVF, contraception, and abortion, Hawley has built a career—and even a family business—on banning them all. In the last six years, he’s made a terrifying amount of progress in that mission.
Hawley has gained notoriety for comparing abortion to slavery, attacking no-fault divorce laws, and being exposed as a pioneer behind the legal arguments being used by his activist allies to shut down access to IVF.
