Reproductive Freedom For All Endorses Lucas Kunce Less Than 24 Hours After Decision on Missouri Abortion-Amendment

St. Louis, MO — Reproductive Freedom for All today announced that Lucas Kunce, the 13-year Marine veteran challenging unpopular incumbent Josh Hawley, has earned their endorsement.

This endorsement comes less than 24 hours after Missouri’s Supreme Court ruled that an abortion-rights amendment, Amendment 3, will stay on the ballot in the November election. Missouri has one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country right now, with no exceptions for rape and incest.

Reproductive Freedom for All warned against another six years of Hawley’s dangerous anti-abortion extremism:

Reproductive Freedom for All: “Lucas Kunce knows power belongs to the people—that’s why he’s running against anti-abortion extremist Josh Hawley to represent Missouri in the U.S. Senate. We need Lucas in the Senate to defend our rights in Missouri and beyond.”

This endorsement follows a wave of momentum for Lucas in the reproductive rights space in Missouri this week. On Monday, Lucas hosted a rally in St. Louis where he was joined by an Air Force veteran who spoke about the challenges she faced in receiving an abortion. He also joined BBC Newshour’s special program on abortion rights in Missouri, discussing how ‘Country Club’ politicians like Hawley will retain access to the very services they deny everyday people. He joined KQ2 yesterday to respond to Missouri’s Supreme Court decision on the abortion amendment.

With abortion on the ballot in Missouri this November alongside the U.S. Senate race, Josh Hawley is in an especially vulnerable position — given his uniquely bad record on reproductive freedom which includes voting againstIVF and the Right to Contraception. Voters are more motivated than ever to protect their reproductive rights, and by extension, their lives.
