Lucas Kunce Stands Up For Missourians at First Debate, Slams Josh Hawley For Trying To Control Us
Springfield, MO — Lt. Col. Lucas Kunce (USMCR, 13 years active duty) joined the Missouri Press Association Forum at its annual convention in Springfield to respond to questions on a range of topics including inflation, rising health care costs, and overseas wars. Despite Josh Hawley not responding to the invitation to the forum, he appeared unannounced prior to its start.

Lucas on Amendment 3 and Hawley’s Abortion Ban:
“Josh Hawley supports an abortion ban — even in cases of rape and incest. As U.S. Senator, I will codify Roe V. Wade … Josh Hawley has even signed onto a national abortion ban.”
Lucas on Hawley backing his corporate backers:
“Inflation is coming from his corporate buddies who supported his campaign in 2018 – you can see that in corporate and share buybacks because of the transfer of wealth. He loves supporting them because that’s who put him in office.”
Lucas on policies to reduce healthcare costs:
“I’ll tell you what we need to do. Enforce our antitrust laws. Stop share buybacks. Get back our money we paid in premiums. Stop PBMs running as middlemen and cutting small pharmacists out — gouging us at the register. It’s wrong, we need to break them up.”
Lucas on China:
“When I was at the Pentagon, we found that you couldn’t make a single weapon system without inputs from China. It’s Josh Hawley’s policy and the result of his ignorance on national security.”
Lucas on overseas wars:
“As far as I know, I’m the only one on this stage who’s ever worn a uniform, who’s ever put buts on the ground… I deployed to Iraq once, Afghanistan twice. I can tell you the number one thing we need to do is keep American boots off the ground.”
